My paintings are a combination of intuitive expression and natural observation of the Pacific Northwest’s stunning coastline, rugged landscape and ever-changing skies. I am moved by nature--a fleeting moment or a time of day--and the subtle interplay of light, color, texture and form. I paint to capture a mood or feeling of the natural world, and human impact on its environment, versus an exact location. The results are paintings that operate between naturalism and abstraction.
